House Rules

01 On How Little Your Taste Means

Taste can become a sophisticated way of believing you are better than everyone else. Come without needing every record, reference or person to validate what you already know. Knowing something obscure does not make you more interesting. We have no interest in building another room where elitism exists.

02 On Being Here

Take the photograph if you must, then put the thing away. You do not need to document every moment to prove that it happened. Pay attention while you are here. Some things are better remembered imperfectly than reduced to content.

03 On How Useless Your Name Is

Your title, company, social media following and carefully maintained reputation do not matter here. You do not need to impress anyone here.

04 On Being Uncomfortable

We are here for discourse, not agreement. Question the curator. Say when something does not work for you, but remain open to the possibility that you may be wrong. Discomfort is welcome. Performative contrarianism is not.

05 On Not Using the Room as Your Content

This is not the next cool spot, and we would prefer not to become the background to your date night, networking session or personal content campaign. We are here for records, stories, strange obsessions and people who made something beautiful. Whatever brought you here, pay attention to the room.
